2 PBJ's were assigned day anti shipping search of "C2", sector  (Iwo Jima to 27-00N, 142-20E, thence to 33-07N, 139-55E, search Hachijo Jima area and return to base via Bonin Islands, searching area for same.

Ran into front near Yome Jima at approximately 27-35N, 142-30E.  Severe weather forced PBJ's to turn back.  Searched Chichi Jima area under conditions of poor visibility (0 to 2 miles); visibility at Haja Jima was zero.  No shipping sighted.
