RESULTS:  (For all claims made on ship targets of special interest, draw diagram, top or side view or both, as appropriate, showing type and location of hits.  For all targets give location and effect of hits, and identify by number above.  Use additional sheets if necessary)

Six native outrigger canoes were observed in various locations in Ponape Lagoon during the reconnaissance runs around the island.  Two of the craft were fired on with nose guns, the remaining four with tail guns.  Tracers were seen to enter the target but due to its wooden construction it did not sink.  Occupants dove into the water and escaped.

One plane of this squadron took off on a snooper mission over Ponape Island with orders to attack targets of opportunity.  The place arrived over the target at 0730 and took up a circling patrol of the island.  At various times during this patrol native canoes were sighted and destroyed.  Intense, inaccurate, light A/A was encountered during the photo over the airstrips at 500 feet altitude.  The fire appeared to originate from the high ground surrounding the field and came from north, south, and east, putting the plane in a heavy crossfire.  Upon approaching Langar Island for reconnaissance at 2500 feet and a range of two miles, two bursts of heavy A/A were encountered.  The plane pulled up into the clouds and the fire ceased.  The plane left the target at 1010, landing at 1230.
